Explained step by step
Short video guides — this is where the big Huberlabs knowledge base is taking shape. All the guides you need for your website, with search.
So Google and AI can find you
The technology for this is already built into your website — you don't need to worry about it. What counts now is your content.
These points help the most.
-
Create or complete your Google Business Profile
This has the biggest impact — and costs nothing. Enter your category, description, services, opening hours, phone number and the link to your website. Upload real photos. A complete profile is shown on Google far more often than a half-empty one.
-
Collect reviews — actively ask for them
Happy customers almost never leave a review on their own. Ask right after the job, ideally in person with a link. Reviews are one of the most important trust signals for Google and for AI assistants.
-
Use the same details everywhere
Your company name, address and phone number must be exactly the same on your website, on Google and in every directory. Inconsistencies are the most common reason a business is harder to find — the machine can't tell which details are correct.
-
Keep your website up to date
New photos, current prices, updated opening hours: every change shows that the business is active. A site that hasn't changed in three years looks to Google like a closed shop. With your CMS, it takes three clicks.
-
Write the way customers ask
AI assistants build their answers from individual sentences on your site. "We repair washing machines in Zürich and the surrounding area" is useful for that — "Your competent partner for innovative household solutions" is not. Write simply and concretely.
-
Answer frequently asked questions on your website
What do customers ask again and again on the phone? That's exactly what belongs on your site as questions and answers. This format is ideal for AI because it can use the answer directly — and your customers save themselves the call.
-
Name your location and service area
Spell out where you work: "in Zürich and across the canton". Don't make the machine guess. Without details like these, you simply won't be suggested in "… near me" searches.
-
List your business in Swiss directories
local.ch and search.ch are free and are read by search engines as well as by AI. Important: use exactly the same details as everywhere else (see point 3).
-
Be present on social media
Regular posts on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn show that the business is alive — and link back to your website. What matters isn't how much you post, but that nothing has been standing still for a year.
-
Show your own photos where it counts
For your team, premises and finished work, real photos are the most convincing — that's where people really want to see the business. For mood images and illustrations, AI-generated images are a good solution: they fit your site exactly and are unique. The only thing to avoid is standard stock photos — they turn up at hundreds of other companies and are instantly recognisable.
-
Be patient
None of these measures works overnight. Expect a few weeks to a few months before you see results. Anyone who promises you quick top rankings is selling you thin air.
